The Hopkins County, Texas Veterans Memorial Committee is dedicated to the creation and installation of a memorial to the Veterans of Hopkins County, Texas.  It will be located on the downtown Courthouse Heritage Square.

Service in the defense of the United States of America is one of the greatest honors anyone can ever achieve. When young Americans put on their nation's uniform they assume the awesome responsibility of protecting our freedoms and defending our lives. America's veterans have never let us down.

We, who live in Hopkins County Texas, have the distinction of sharing our history with immortal heroes of America's pasts. In the tradition of a grateful nation, we recognize and honor innumerable men and women of Hopkins County who have served in our nation's military.

Financing of the veteran's portion of the project will be by public donations and from the subscriptions of veterans and their families of Hopkins County, Texas.  This project will include Texas Pink Granite Monuments containing the names of Hopkins County Veterans that reside, have resided or are buried in Hopkins County.  This Veterans Memorial will be a part of the overall beautification and enhancement of the entire downtown public square area in the center of Sulphur Springs,Texas with the same honor, dignity and beauty as our centerpiece, the historic Hopkins County Courthouse.  .
